Strong Communities
Our Home Visiting Program staff provides home-based services to first-time expecting and new Native American parents. Like the Early Intervention Services, the Home Visiting services are available to families living in Bernalillo, Sandoval, Valencia, and Cibola counties. This program is designed to provide education, services and tools to support and empower first time parents.
We provide the following services to expecting and new parents:
- Prenatal Education
- Basic Infant Care Education and Information
- Health, Nutrition, and Safety Information
- Parent/Child Attachment & Bonding Strategies
- Child Development Education
- Child Screenings
Our home visitors help empower parents to
- Increase their knowledge
- Access health and dental care for their families
- Learn how to make changes in the healthcare system
- Identify and access other benefits, services, and resources
Who qualifies for Home Visiting Services?
- Native American parents who
- are expecting their first child
- are first time parents of a child from birth to three years of age
- are parents to three or more children under the age of four
