
Through the Early Intervention Program, NAPPR provides a wide range of home-based educational and developmental services to Native American families with infants or toddlers with delays or at risk for delays. Our Developmental Specialists and Service Coordinators are trained to help children grow, learn, and develop regardless of their ability or developmental progress.
Some of the services provided by our staff include:
Developmental Screening and Monitoring
Our staff performs screenings to measure the developmental progress of the children we serve. Children who receive ongoing services from us continue to receive monitoring and additional screenings to measure progress.
Assessment and Evaluation
Additional testing may be performed to provide additional information to determine a child’s eligibility and need for other services.
Direct Services
NAPPR’s developmental team members work together with families to choose the services that would be helpful for the child. Services may include:
- General Child Developmental Guidance
- Speech Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Social Work/Family Support
Service Coordination
NAPPR works with families to identify and access benefits, services, and resources that children and families might need.
Parent/Caregiver Information
Our staff is able to provide information on health and safety, infant massage, child development, discipline, and other parenting topics.
Training and Technical Assistance
NAPPR’s staff is able to provide training to day care providers, parent groups, and other community members.
Who qualifies for services?
- Native American children
- from birth through three years of age
- with established condition or at risk for delay
- who live in Bernalillo, Sandoval, Cibola or Valencia county
