In March 2010, NAPPR was selected to begin a new Early Head Start program in the Albuquerque area. This program is funded by federal ARRA Early Head Start Expansion funds through the Department of Health and Human Services. Early Head Start is a two-generation program designed to provide high-quality child and family development services to income eligible pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers.
NAPPR was selected to serve 72 families through a combination of home-based and center-based services. At present, NAPPR is serving providing home-based services to expectant moms and families with infants and toddlers. We expect to begin center-based services in September 2011.
